Richmond Gas Works provides natural gas service to homes and businesses in the City of Richmond, Henrico, and northern Chesterfield.
We’ve been at it since 1851. In fact, we’re the second oldest public gas utility in the United States.
That means you can count on us every single day of every single week to work smart and work safely with a constant eye on delivering affordable, comfortable, efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly natural gas.
For any non-emergency work or safety checks in your home or at your business, please make sure of the following:
- The customer or authorized representative, age 18 or older must be present
- Pets should be safely secured in a location that does not interfere with the field service technician’s inspection of the gas meter, gas pipes/lines and app appliances – electric and gas
- Keep in mind that we may need to access back and side yards, basements and the interior or your home or building
- Provide sufficient clearance around the appliances/equipment and the meter so we can conduct a thorough inspection
