If your home or business already has an existing natural gas meter and you want to start, stop or transfer service:

Information we need

  • The full name of the property owner or leaseholder with a valid lease with the owner
  • Complete address including apartment or unit number
  • Service(s) needed and list of gas appliances
  • Date service needs to be turned on or placed in the customer’s name
  • Verification information:
    • If purchasing property: name and telephone number of closing attorney or title/mortgage company
    • If leasing: name and telephone number of landlord or leasing agent
    • Closing date or date lease begins and length of lease
    • Names of all others on deed or all other leaseholders, co-signers and adults listed on the lease

Information you need

  • You must be the property owner or leaseholder with a valid lease with the owner to request service
  • Allow 3-5 days (M-F, excluding holidays) when scheduling to start, stop or transfer service to a location
  • The fee to start or transfer service is $35
  • We may require a security deposit to open or maintain your service depending on your payment record with us
  • You’ll be responsible for providing access to the gas meter during regular business hours (M-F 7:30 am – 5:30 pm) and at all times in the event of an emergency
  • If your gas appliances have an electronic ignition, your electric service must be on before we can turn on your gas
  • If you have a gas water heater, your water service must be turned on before we can light the appliance
  • If stopping service, you must notify us to close your account. Keep in mind that failure to request that we stop service will keep your account to open and you will continue to be responsible for all charges until your account has been closed.
